Delete Your DrinkSmart Account
We respect your right to control your personal data. This page explains how to permanently delete your DrinkSmart account and all associated information from our servers.
How to Delete Your Account
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Open the DrinkSmart app on your device
- Go to the Dashboard screen
- Scroll down to the Settings section
- Tap on Privacy / Delete My Data
- Read the confirmation dialog carefully
- If you have Premium with auto-renew enabled, cancel your subscription first in App Store/Play Store
- Return to the app and tap Delete My Data again
- Tap Confirm to proceed with deletion
The entire process takes less than 30 seconds and is processed immediately.
What Gets Deleted
When you delete your account, the following data will be permanently removed from our servers:
- Account Information: Your Firebase anonymous UID and associated profile
- MBTI Results: Your personality test results and preferences
- Session Data: All drinking session records, timestamps, and history
- Preferences: Notification settings, reminder intervals, language preferences
- Subscription Status: Your premium/basic status (subscription billing continues until cancelled separately)
- Device Tokens: FCM push notification tokens
What Is NOT Deleted
Payment Records (Legal Requirement):
- For legal compliance under the E-Commerce Act, payment and transaction records are retained for 5 years
- These records are anonymized and not linked to your identity
- This is required by law and cannot be deleted earlier
Important Information Before Deleting
⚠️ Please Read Carefully:
- This action cannot be undone. Once deleted, your data cannot be recovered.
- Premium Subscription Policy:
- Active Auto-Renew: If your Premium subscription has auto-renew enabled, you must cancel it first before deleting your account. The app will block deletion and guide you to:
- iPhone/iPad: Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions → DrinkSmart → Cancel Subscription
- Android: Google Play Store → Menu → Subscriptions → DrinkSmart → Cancel Subscription
- Subscription Cancelled but Time Remaining: If you've already cancelled your subscription but still have Premium days remaining, the app will warn you that deletion will forfeit your paid access immediately. You can choose to:
- Wait until your subscription expires naturally, or
- Proceed with deletion anyway (you'll lose remaining paid days)
- Immediate effect: Deletion is processed within 24 hours and cannot be reversed.
- Reinstalling the app: If you reinstall DrinkSmart after deletion, you will start fresh with a new anonymous account. Your previous data will NOT be restored.
Alternative: Pause Notifications Instead
If you're not ready to permanently delete your account, consider these alternatives:
- Disable Notifications: Go to My Profile → Settings → Turn off notifications
- Delete the App: Uninstall DrinkSmart temporarily. Your server data remains and can be accessed if you reinstall (using the same device)
- Cancel Premium: Downgrade to Basic plan without losing your data
